Have you ever imagined reading a newspaper that comes straight from the heart of the community itself,
and is written by its own lovers?
Just that simply… This is the “Makkah lovers” newspaper and platform.
Today, we are living through an amazing digital transformation
that has redefined the concepts of media, finance, and society.
With this shift, a new kind of project has emerged called DAO –
Decentralized Autonomous Organization.
The term may sound technical, but at its core, it’s very simple:
It is a form of collective collaboration
where there is no single director,
but a group of members who make decisions collectively and transparently using digital tools.
“Makkah Lovers ” is one such new initiative:
a digital platform and newspaper
that aims to document the cultural, artistic, and social pulse of Mecca,
but not in a traditional way.
In “Makkah Lovers ,” you are not just a reader, you can be:
- A writer narrating a local event
- A photographer documenting corners of the city
- A member voting on what should be published
- A funder supporting a cultural project you believe deserves it
- A partner in planning and decision-making
All this happens through modern digital tools like Snapshot (for collective voting) and Safe Treasury (for fully transparent financial management).
This means that any initiative – such as supporting a cultural event, funding an art exhibition, or producing a visual book about Mecca’s neighborhoods – only takes place with the community’s approval… and its funding.
In today’s world, where narratives are sometimes made behind closed doors,
we dream that the Meccan narrative belongs to its lovers,
and that the newspaper reflects the heartbeat of the people, not hidden agendas.
“Makkah Lovers ” is not a commercial project…
but a shared space where we reclaim our right to tell our story,
to document it, and to make decisions.
Join us,
because we believe Mecca does not need a newspaper to speak about it,
but a community that writes it through its actions.
