JEDDAH – April 21, 2026
In a landmark move for the contemporary art scene, Saudi artist Ziad Al-Enzi (artistically known as B52) has emerged as the first artist to lead a pioneering experience in merging authentic folk heritage with modern creative frontiers. His vision focuses on “Exporting Authenticity,” ensuring that the core of Saudi heritage remains untouched while being projected globally through innovative artistic lenses.
A Musical Bridge: From “Khaybar” to “Zahran”
Al-Enzi has recently translated his philosophy through two major audiovisual works that celebrate identity and place:
- “Khaybar” Music Video: This work presents a captivating visual tapestry of the historic city of Khaybar, blending modern rap beats with oriental instruments to tell the story of ancient fortresses and palm groves in a style that resonates with the younger generation.
- “Ardah Zahran 702”: Al-Enzi achieved an artistic breakthrough by transforming the traditional “Ardah” (specifically the Zahran folk performance) into a vibrant, global “House Track” rhythm. He accomplished this without compromising the original melody’s prestige or its traditional musical foundations.
Artistic Leadership and Global Recognition
Al-Enzi’s innovation extends beyond music, positioning him as a guardian of heritage in modern platforms:
- The Founding Artist: He serves as the founding artist for the “Roosters Ranch” initiative and was the first recipient of the “Wadee Binjabi Grant for Culture and Arts” in recognition of his excellence.
- International Footprint: His ambition has crossed local borders, recently earning a Special Jury Prize at an international film festival in Argentina (PIFF), proving that art rooted in the land and heart knows no limits.
- Innovative Spaces: He is the first artist to enter the “Jeddah Lovers Sandbox” space to conduct artistic experiments aimed at documenting and protecting traditional melodies like “Al-Dahha” for future generations.
Vision for the Future
Through his work, Ziad Al-Enzi demonstrates that modernity does not mean change, but rather making the “Authentic” heard and protected in every time and place through the tools of the future.
