The British Consul General in Jeddah spoke about the longstanding historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, which provide a solid foundation as we look toward the future.
She mentioned that we can further strengthen the ties between our peoples now, especially with the growing air transport connections between the two countries. She expressed her anticipation for more collaboration in trade, education, and environmental preservation, emphasizing that this continues to pave the way for future generations—a responsibility we all share.
The Consul General added that she has primarily focused on the Middle East throughout her long career, having worked in Jeddah in the early 2000s. She expressed her amazement at the significant development and her delight in hearing from many Saudi friends about the positive changes in life in Jeddah.
“I love traveling around the country by road whenever I get the chance. I enjoy meeting people and exploring the landscapes. I still have some places on my list to visit in this vast country,” she said.
She also noted that Saudi Arabia and Britain have been close for many years, with similar customs and traditions. “I strongly support preserving our individual customs and traditions. Saudi culture, whether in language, food, or breathtaking landscapes, is beautiful and unique,” she added.
The Consul General mentioned that she is following Saudi Arabia’s preparations for Expo 2030, as well as the major preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in 2024. She expressed confidence that preparations are well underway, stating, “The UK is here to support and celebrate Saudi achievements.”
In conclusion, she wished the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people a happy National Day and a prosperous, successful future under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect them.
